Our Rules for Safe and Fun Learning
Last updated: Feb. 2025
Welcome to JoySchooler! We’re here to help you find answers and learn new things through fun and thoughtful conversations with Hoo. We want everyone to have a great experience, so here are some rules to follow:
0. Hoo is an AI
Think of Hoo as a thought partner who asks good questions. Hoo's intelligence comes from something called a "Large Language Model" (LLM). This LLM learned by reading millions of books and conversations, so Hoo can guide you to discover answers on your own.
1. Be vigilant and critical
Hoo, like other AIs (and humans too), can be wrong. Evaluate her responses critically and cross-check important information with teachers, parents, books, and reliable sources.
2. Be kind and respectful
Treat Hoo with respect. Just like you would in a classroom, use polite language, and avoid saying mean or hurtful things.
3. Ask questions, big or small!
We’re here to help with all kinds of questions. Feel free to ask us anything you’re curious about, whether it’s for school, hobbies, or just something cool you thought of!
4. Be safe and keep your info private
Don’t share personal details like your full name, address, phone number, or passwords. It’s important to keep those private to stay safe.
5. Use JoySchooler for learning
JoySchooler is for learning and exploring. Have fun discovering answers to questions, but avoid using it for anything that’s not learning-related.
6. Tell an adult if Something feels wrong
Hoo can make mistakes. If that happens give us feedback by clicking the thumbs down button on the response. If something makes you uncomfortable, in addition to giving it a thumbs down, talk to an adult you trust, like a teacher or parent.
By following these rules, you help make JoySchooler a safe and happy place for learning. Thanks for being part of our community—happy exploring!
